It is unimaginable to understand how emotion controls this vital organ! Yet this is vital! Now lets get into something regarding the functioning of heart.
The heart is made up of cardiac muscle fibres and has four chambers. The two upper ones called auricles and the two bottom one called ventricles. The valve between the right auricle and ventricle is tricuspid valve and that between the left ones is bicuspid. There are also two other valves, namely, the pulmonic and the aortic valves.
The left auricle receives de-oxygenated blood from other parts of the body through the inferior and superior vena cavae. Then this blood is pushed into the left ventricle by the contraction of the left auricle. Then, by, ventricular contraction this blood is taken by pulmonary artery to the lungs for purification of blood.
Then, the purified blood is brought back into the right auricle via four pulmonary veins. Then, by auricular contraction, this blood is moved down to the right ventricle. From there, the pure blood is transported to different parts of the body through the aorta and its branches.
A rhythmic functioning of the heart is very vital for survival. Average heart beats per minute is 72. Nutritious food and the correct exercises increase the life time of heart. So, take care of this life saving organ for a long and healthy life.
